When you are getting yourself prepared for a dinner date, there are probably hundreds of things racing through your head. You want to make a good impression and you want to make sure you are taking her someplace that you know you’ll both enjoy. Choosing to take her to a place you’ve been before can be a good idea as you will be familiar with the atmosphere as well as the food. However, when you are taking her to a place that you frequent with your friends or alone, you want to make sure that you avoid eating foods that you may not have realized can be a huge turnoff for women.
Skip the Garlic
There’s a reason why movies and television shows make fun of someone who has just finished eating garlic who tries to kiss someone else. Garlic has great health properties for just about everyone. The downside of garlic is that it leaves your breath smelling terrible. If you don’t have any after dinner mints or gum, you should skip eating foods that are heavy in garlic altogether.
Avoid the Mess
Another type of food you may want to avoid while on your date is anything that can be overly messy. Foods that are heavy in sauces such as spaghetti, lasagna, or Alfredo can be a huge mistake when on a date. If you do end up ordering one of these meals, we suggest that you wear a dark colored shirt in case any sauce lands on you, which it will.

Can the Sushi
Sushi can be a great meal on a date, but if you’re going to be eating it, you need to be extremely comfortable with the restaurant and have eaten their sushi before. Sometimes you never know what is going on with a restaurant’s seafood until it’s too late. The last thing you want is for the two of you to leave the restaurant with food poisoning. If you’ve never had sushi before, we recommend that you skip it, especially if you’re on a first date.
If you’re comfortable with all of these foods and have eaten them before without issue then it should be fine. However, we suggest that you be completely certain that you won’t have any problems with anything that you order. Some heavier foods can leave you with indigestion and feeling terrible. If possible, make sure to grab some antacids or anything else you think you may need when eating a new food for the first time. Do not let her convince you into eating something that you aren’t sure of. Either make up and excuse or be honest as to why you don’t want to eat it.
